Our client is a Cloud-Base SaaS company looking for a VP of Engineering. Our client is growing rapidly and seeking a leader to be the voice of engineering in important and strategic company decisions. Job Responsibilities
- Drive the vision, design, strategy, and implementation of the technology, platform, and product development to support the needs of the business and their customers
- Evaluate the current architecture and oversee the implementation of new technologies
- Build, lead, and manage the engineering team
- Develop and manage our technical roadmap together with the Product team, while also ensuring that deadlines are met with minimal error
- Build processes to help scale product, platform, and engineering team for growth
- Collaborate with all other departments including product, design, business operations, marketing, customer success, and finance, as well as with leadership, stakeholders, and external partners
- Automation, reliability, availability and observability as a core tenant
- Desire for clarity and simplicity
- Help lead and shape the company’s strategic direction
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Previous experience with Director level responsibilities including building and scaling teams & initiatives while simultaneously meeting deadlines and releases
- Cloud-Base Saas hosted environment experience (AWS preferred)
- Exceptionally skilled and hungry engineer and problem solver
- Strong understanding of system design
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Ability to understand and articulate the design and architecture of the entire system
- Eager to work openly and collaboratively with a diverse team
- Comfortable working in a tech-driven environment with the ability to coordinate across several stakeholder groups (Product, Operations, Marketing, etc.)
- Proactive self-starter
- Driven to learn new technologies and are a design thinker
- Experienced with Agile methodology and establishing process
- Flexible management style with a primary approach of coaching and enabling strong engineering teams
